National Association of Teachers of English in Russia (NATE Russia) was registered in 1997. It was founded on the basis of the former TESOL-Russia association within MAAL (Moscow Association of Applied Linguistics).

NATE Russia has both individual and collective members. It has 15 chapters in different regions of Russia.

NATE Russia is affiliated with the international association of teachers of English TESOL and works in close cooperation with another international association of teachers of English IATEFL.
